Welcome to our Website!

Welcome To Bowhouse Primary School's Website

Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear parents/carers,
On behalf of the staff, parents and children, I extend a warm welcome to you and your child as part of our school community at Bowhouse Primary School and ELC.
We hope you find the information on our website helpful as we begin to share your child's learning journey with you.
Whilst education continues to undergo many changes to prepare children for the demands of a rapidly changing world, the central aim at Bowhouse remains the same; to provide the best possible education for each child in our school, challenging and supporting them to achieve their potential.
Our staff are dedicated, caring and hard-working and are aspirational for all our children. We create an inclusive, positive and nurturing atmosphere in school and seek to involve and work in partnership with families to establish positive home/school links to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
If you have any questions or would like to find out more information about our school and ELC,  please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Best wishes,

Laura Swan
Headteacher

Football Colours Trial

As we continue our Sports Fortnight next week we have decided to trial allowing pupils to wear football colours when they are taking part in special events or dress down days. Please be aware these cannot be worn on any other occasions.

Traditionally, this has not been allowed as it has been perceived to cause issues in the classroom and playground. However, our pupils are all aware of which team each other (and staff) support and collectively we have to teach one another to respect that. We have decided to trail this next week and in the remaining dress down days.

If this does cause issues we will revert to a no football colours policy – the children are all aware of this.

If your child does choose to wear football colours can we ask you reinforce the expectation of respect with them as this policy can only continue if collectively everyone shows the same level of respect.

Thank you.

Reminder: Please do!

On Tuesday 2nd June we will be having a sponsored Great Athletes Event in School. Commonwealth Games athlete Fraser Malcolm will along with all pupils will take part in a sponsored fitness circuit run a terrific way to get all children excited about sport and realise that getting moving is really fun! Their athlete will then share their incredible sporting journey, a story of resilience and determination in a fun and interactive assembly. There will also be an opportunity to ask any burning questions in a Q&A session with their inspiring role-model at the end!
The money raised for the event will help us to purchase new sports equipment and improve levels of physical activity in our school!
Puplis have all received a paper sponsor form - P7 pupils are checking today to see if any child thinks they did not take their form home and they will be given another one to bring home.

You can also set up an online fundraising page for your child should this be easier for you. Please follow the instructions below:
